While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Johnson Pumas were not quite the Butler Lynx's's equal in the second half on Thursday. Johnson fell to Butler 44-38. Johnson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Butler apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Butler's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danny Bennett led the charge by scoring 22 points. Another player making a difference was DJ Taylor, who scored 13 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Johnson and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Butler, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson will face off against Rowe-Clark at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Jacobs at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Jacobs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
