The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Pius X of the  15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March of 2017.
  Jordan Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  stolen base.  Gabriella Casco was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 On Volcano Vista's side,  Audrianna Jim made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  seven earned runs off   nine  hits. Jim was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run.
 In other batting news,  Sixx Arnold was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Jewel Candelaria, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 St. Pius X's loss  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 7-2. As for Volcano Vista,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-5.
 St. Pius X will head out on the road to  challenge  Sandia at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Volcano Vista, they will  face off against Rio Rancho at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Volcano Vista has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
