In what's become a running theme this season, the Bayside Marlins gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Ocean Lakes 50-24. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-3.
Jessie Ware was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven steals. Ware is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Marie Henry, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Ocean Lakes saw an underclassman step up: Samara Williams dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.
Bayside now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Ocean Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayside will take on Tallwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tallwood is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Ocean Lakes, they will head out on the road to take on Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
