The Luverne Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Carroll an easy 64-41 win. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Luverne has scored all season.
Carroll was led to victory by Devon Pruitt and Peyton Plott. Pruitt scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Plott scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was N'jia Gosha, who scored six points along with four blocks.
Luverne's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Carroll, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luverne will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pleasant Home at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Carroll, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Barbour County at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
