On Friday, The Gallia Academy Blue Devils got themselves on the board against the South Point Pointers, but the South Point Pointers never followed suit. They breezed by the Pointers on the road to the tune of 28-0. Given Gallia Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while South Point is ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gallia Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for South Point, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Gallia Academy will be playing at home against Vinton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vinton County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for South Point, they will head out on the road to face off against Barnesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barnesville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
