Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, USC Hybrid's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gertz-Ressler. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 27, 2023, but that streak is no more.
USC Hybrid was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Gertz-Ressler work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-27, 27-25, 25-19.
University Prep Value will have to keep a close watch on Areeana Cortez Ruiz and Marsela Leiva, a pair of players who had a big impact on USC Hybrid's prior game. Cortez Ruiz had 11 digs and one block, while Leiva had ten digs and three aces.
University Prep Value's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for USC Hybrid, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
