On Saturday, Pleasant Valley slipped by McClymonds 45-44.
Pleasant Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Martin led the charge by scoring ten points along with three steals. Hayden Rick was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jimmy Bush, who scored eight points.
Pleasant Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for McClymonds, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-3.
Pleasant Valley will head out on the road to challenge Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shasta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 461st, while Pleasant Valley is ranked 169th). As for McClymonds, they will be playing at home against Oakland Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
