Their game last Friday wasn't at all kind to Toll Gate, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They were able to grind out a solid win over Scituate on Saturday, winning 19-8. That's another feather in the cap for Toll Gate, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Toll Gate offense stepped up its game and put 19 points on the board in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Scituate couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 19-0 heading into the break. Although Toll Gate wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war. The victory bumped their record up to 2-3. The loss dropped Scituate's record to 1-3.
Next week Toll Gate take on Hope at 1:30 PM. Hope are limping into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Scituate, they will face off against Tiverton.
