Baseball Game Preview: Pasco Pirates vs. Bishop Moore Hornets

For the second straight game, Pasco will face off against Bishop Moore. The Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasco is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Pasco heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They came up short against Bishop Moore, falling 15-0. The Pirates were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Hornets' pitchers proved too tough.

For Bishop Moore's part, Drew Kunz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Kunz has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop Moore let Kai Lwin and Jesiah Woodside run wild. Lwin went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Woodside went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those five RBI gave Lwin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danny Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bishop Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasco only posted an OBP of .143.

The win (which was Bishop Moore's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pasco, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-8.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Pasco hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bishop Moore struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
