St. Joseph extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 7-2. They came out on top against the Wilton Warriors by a score of 24-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cadets also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.
Among those leading the charge was Finn Kilmartin, who rushed for 53 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in December of 2024.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kyle Wicker, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time this season, Wilton fell to 8-1. They gained 202 more yards on the day, but it was St. Joseph that made the best use of them.
Charlie Calabrese and Jake Padilla certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Calabrese threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Padilla picked up 115 receiving yards and one TD.
Coming up, after each having a week off, St. Joseph and Trumbull will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Wilton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-0 win against Hillhouse on the 21st.
