The Gaither Cowboys lost against the Plant City Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gaither took a 65-50 bruising from Plant City. Gaither has not had much luck with Plant City recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Gaither lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rico Kindred, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marc Fransberg, who scored 13 points.
Plant City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Tinsley, who scored 18 points along with five blocks. The contest was Tinsley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jamin Andrews was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Gaither's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Plant City, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaither will be home for the holidays to greet Steinbrenner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Plant City and Brandon will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brandon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
