Section 9 C-II recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Section 9 C-II this week, Millbrook beat Sullivan West 51-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Millbrook moved up to 103 from 147 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Sean Keenan's team climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Bulldogs 51-14.
The Blazers' dynamic duo of Reggie Colley and Devo'n Jackson proved to be unstoppable against Sullivan West, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Colley threw for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns and Jackson had 57 yards receiving.
Michael Decarmo made the biggest impact on defense this week as Millbrook defeated Ron Bauer's team. The 6-foot-0 defensive end.
Andrew Stabbert was a passing and rushing force as the Bulldogs fell to the Blazers. Stabbert's key target this week was Zach O'Connor, who caught 2 passes for 45 yards.
Liberty's Quinn Jackson and Patrick Fitzpatrick led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jackson has thrown for 279 yards this season, while Fitzpatrick, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 6 catches for 132 yards. Millbrook's Henry Cardinal leads the league in rushing yards with 560.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Indians' Fitzpatrick goes up against Sullivan West's Richard Shevak.
One of Section 9 C-II's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Liberty and the Bulldogs face off next week.
Next week's game between John Wilhelm's team and Sullivan West will feature a good passing match up as Jackson will test his arm against Shevak's defensive ability.
As it stands, the Bulldogs are in third, while the Indians are in second.
Tri-Valley fell to Eldred 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jared James ran for 43 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards in the loss.
