Softball Recap: Molina Comes Up Short

Molina dropped their record down to 17-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Wilson Wildcats, falling 8-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Jaguars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Wilson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Considering they have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wilson's part, they let Sofia Martinez and Savannah Vargas run wild. Martinez went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Vargas got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Sydney Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

While Molina had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
