The Dixie Greyhounds were the 54-37 winner over the Brookville Blue Devils when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Dixie took a hard 69-52 fall against Brookville on Saturday. Dixie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Dom King, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Brookville. The matchup was King's third in a row with at least ten points. Brendan Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Dixie bumped their record down to 4-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Brookville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Dixie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Newton Local at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Newton Local will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 630th, while Dixie is ranked 172nd). Brookville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Maumee Valley Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Maumee Valley Country Day's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
