The Kane Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Smethport Hubbers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Kane put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley 56-24. Considering the Wolves have won three games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kane relied on the efforts of Evan Anderson, who gained 169 total yards and three touchdowns, and Eric Novosel, who threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. What's more, Novosel racked up 153.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.
Kane was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley only rushed for 107.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Smethport, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Bucktail 53-28 on Friday. The Hubbers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 46-20).
Smethport's win came from a few key players Kane will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jonah Ganoe, who rushed for 120 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss). Jude Kisko was another key player, gaining 76 total yards and two touchdowns.
Smethport's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Zach Hungiville was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played.
Kane's record is now 4-1. As for Smethport, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Kane took their win against Smethport in their previous meeting back in August by a conclusive 34-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
