Volleyball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Takes a Loss

Somerset Sky Pointe saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Sweetwater Red Devils by a score of 2-1.

Dyson Twitchell paced Somerset Sky Pointe's offense, picking up ten kills. Twitchell got some help from Gage Poulsen and his 21 assists. Finally, Poulsen was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Sweetwater was led to victory by Kalvin Arcedera and Sergio Salazar. Arcedera had 24 digs, while Salazar had 20 assists and 12 digs. That's the most digs Arcedera has posted since back in April of 2024.

Somerset Sky Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Sweetwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Somerset Sky Pointe has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Desert Oasis on the 5th. As for Sweetwater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas on the 5th.
