Basketball Recap: Menomonee Falls Takes a Loss

Menomonee Falls was the 60-59 winner over Brookfield Central when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Phoenix took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers on Friday. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, Menomonee Falls got some senior leadership from Kate Janssen and Sydney Redding. Janssen almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards, while Redding almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards set a new season-high mark for Redding. Piper Atkinson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Dylan Romero went supernova For Brookfield Central., shooting 56% from the field en route to 23 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Romero has scored at least a third of the Lancers' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Witon, who posted nine points and five steals.

Menomonee Falls now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Brookfield Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
