Pearl River were successful in their last outing against Haynes Academy, and they didn't afford Haynes Academy any payback this time around. Pearl River made easy work of Haynes Academy on Friday and carried off a 37-7 victory. Followers of Pearl River probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The game started off well for Pearl River, whose offense put up 30 first-half points. Meanwhile, Haynes Academy couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 30-0 heading into the break. The Pearl River defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The win bumped Pearl River's record up to 5-0. The defeat dropped Haynes Academy's record to 1-4.
Next week Pearl River take on Hahnville at 7:00 PM. Pearl River are cruising in on a five-game winning streak while Hahnville are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses. As for Haynes Academy, they will face off against De La Salle.
