Malin Lewis was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Ajo: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jarett Moore also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Ajo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, A+ Charter School made easy work of Gila Bend last Thursday and carried off a 13-2 win. The Maricopa are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fourth match they've won by 6+ runs this season.
A+ Charter School got a massive performance out of Carson De Paola, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave De Paola a new career-high. Jose Coronado was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Ajo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for A+ Charter School, their record is now 6-1-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ajo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .599. However, it's not like A+ Charter School struggles in that department as they've averaged .510. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ajo might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from A+ Charter School in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
