The Spanish Fork Dons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Timpview, falling 84-48. Spanish Fork was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-23.
Spanish Fork's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gage Christensen, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Ethan Beckstead who scored 11 points. Andy Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Timpview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dean Rueckert out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. Rueckert hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbyn Hansen, who scored nine points along with eight assists and two steals.
Spanish Fork has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Timpview, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Spanish Fork will look to defend their home court on Friday against Orem at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Orem's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. As for Timpview, they will head out on the road to take on Cedar Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cedar Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
