The Oberlin The Phoenix scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-43 victory over Medina Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Medina Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ashley Conwill scored 15 points along with three blocks. That was a full 34.9% of Medina Christian Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ann Sems, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Oberlin's win ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16. As for Medina Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oberlin will take on Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Medina Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Jackson-Milton at 3:00 p.m. Hopefully Jackson-Milton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Thursday.
