It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Westminster ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Northglenn Norsemen 5-4. The five-run effort marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Westminster got a great performance from Andrew Townsend as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Adrian Moreno was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Michael Alcantor was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.
The win was the third in a row for Westminster, bringing their record up to 5-2. As for Northglenn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
