The Whitmire Wolverines can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind 38-15. Whitmire's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Whitmire's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklynn Babb led the charge by scoring 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Trystan Samples, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Whitmire's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-13. As for South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Whitmire will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Thornwell at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Thornwell comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind, they will play host again and welcome Calhoun Falls Charter, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calhoun Falls Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind in South Carolina (Calhoun Falls Charter is ranked 216th, while South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind is ranked 616th).
