The North Stanly Comets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will  face off against  the Oak Grove Grizzlies  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. North Stanly will be strutting in after a  win while Oak Grove will be coming in after a  defeat.
North Stanly is headed out to face Oak Grove after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went North Stanly's way against Providence Grove on Thursday as North Stanly made off with  a  16-1 victory.
 Sophia Crist was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). Crist was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.

 In other batting news, North Stanly got a  massive  performance out of  Breauna Speight, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most  runs  Speight has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Emma Sanders, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and four  RBI.
Meanwhile,  after soaring to 11  runs the game before, Oak Grove was a bit more limited  in their  game  on Wednesday. They fell  6-2 to West Forsyth.
 Mary Peyton Hodge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.
 At the plate, Oak Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Abby Cruz, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
