Riverside is 7-2 against Brush since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Beavers will square off against the Arcs at 4:30 p.m. Riverside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Brush will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Riverside extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over South. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Riverside got a great performance from Ethan Hay as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hay has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lelynd Chapman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Kalb, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Brush came out on top against Wickliffe on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Arcs walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Blue Devils. The Arcs haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kyle Farrell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominick Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Riverside's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brush, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-8.
Brush's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Brush, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?
Riverside took their win against Brush in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2 score. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Arcs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
