The Wheaton North Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Glenbard North Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheaton North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Wheaton North took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Geneva by a score of 12-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Wheaton North got a great performance from Madison Moore as she struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Moore a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Makayla Hammer was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Hana Stoner was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Wheaton North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Glenbard North came out on top against St. Charles North on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Panthers walked away with an 8-5 victory over the North Stars. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the North Stars: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Alyssa Abderhalden, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Frcek, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Wheaton North is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Glenbard North, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wheaton North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Glenbard North struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wheaton North was able to grind out a solid victory over Glenbard North in their previous matchup back in April, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
