The Brandon Bulldogs will face off against the Oak Grove Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brandon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.
Brandon had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Pearl with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-25.
Brandon found their leader in underclassman Tyson Robinson, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Jay Mcqueen also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove faced Meridian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Oak Grove breezed by Meridian on the road to the tune of 35-0. The result was nothing new for Oak Grove, who have now won five matches by 30 points or more so far this season.
Aj Maddox had a dynamite game for Oak Grove, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Damari Jefferson was another key contributor, picking up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Brandon to 10-2 and Oak Grove to 10-1.
Brandon strolled past Oak Grove when the teams last played back in October by a score of 38-20. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Oak Grove's Maddox, who threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
