If the Springfield Yellow Jackets were feeling good off their 73-37 takedown of the Northeast Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Springfield was outmatched by the Hawks on the road and fell 66-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Springfield of the 72-44 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rayne Erickson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shemauria Pope, who scored 12 points.
Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Rossview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Springfield and the Cobras will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kirkwood is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Rossview, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
