Basketball Recap: Edgewood Skates Past Eastern Greene with Ease

Edgewood can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds, posting a 66-15 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Edgewood to victory were Allison Bland and Macey Crider. Bland went 9 of 13 on her way to 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Crider dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Crider also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Edgewood is 10-3 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Davis, who posted four points.

Edgewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Edgewood's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Eastern Greene, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Edgewood will take on Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cascade is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. As for Eastern Greene, they will face off against Shakamak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
