The McNair Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 55-45 victory over Chavez. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McNair also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Chavez's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tariq Turay, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Treavon Spivey who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Turay scored 15 or more points.
McNair pushed their record up to 6-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Chavez, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNair will take on Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chavez, they will head out on the road to challenge Stagg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stagg is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
