The Duluth Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Norcross, falling 73-27. While losing is never fun, Duluth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Norcross is ranked 33rd).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylie Zirger, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Boyd, who scored eight points.
Duluth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Norcross, their win was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
Duluth will challenge Meadowcreek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norcross, they will be playing at home against Berkmar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Berkmar has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
