Century recap November 13, 2013
Esperanza moved up to 368 from 398 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Century. The Aztecs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Foothill 14-13.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Villa Park beat El Modena 43-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Spartans.
Dylan Osborne threw for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 11-15 with 0 interceptions.
Sean McGaffigan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Knights lost to Esperanza. He completed 20 passes for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 42 yards. McGaffigan's key target this week was Xavier Gutuierrez, who caught 7 passes for 152 yards.
Osborne put up the best numbers in passing as Villa Park defeated the Vanguards. Osborne's favorite target this week was Kyle Harlin, who caught 3 passes for 81 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Osborne of Dusan Ancich's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,398. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chris Prescott. The Canyon star has 50 catches for 1,025 yards.
The Spartans took down El Modena 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Osborne ran for 10 yards in the win.
