Basketball Game Preview: Arvin Bears vs. Wasco Tigers

Arvin hasn't had much luck against Wasco recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Arvin Bears will get right back to it and host the Wasco Tigers at 5:15 p.m. Arvin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.

While Arvin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Boron 78-37. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Xzavier Pierson-Brooks was his usual excellent self, putting up 31 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aziz Ochoa, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Wasco entered their game against Kennedy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Wasco lost to Kennedy at home by a 64-47 margin. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Arvin and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Wasco, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-4.
