The Edgar Wildcats will square off against Three Lakes/Phelps at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Edgar sitting on three straight victories and Three Lakes/Phelps on six.
Edgar had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Pittsville on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kendyl Apfelbeck was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Jorja Knetter was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Kaiser, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Three Lakes/Phelps beat Crandon 6-2 on Tuesday.
Like Edgar, Three Lakes/Phelps also got a great game from a two-way player: Malia Szews. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Szews was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Three Lakes/Phelps let Kylee Wilson and Haylee Barnekow run wild. Wilson went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Barnekow went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Kate Koshuta was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Three Lakes/Phelps kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 19 consecutive matchups.
Edgar now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Three Lakes/Phelps, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
