The Reedy Lions were the 65-53 winner over The Colony Cougars when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Reedy lost to The Colony at home by a decisive 72-53 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Reedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while The Colony is ranked 36th).
Reedy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Chausse, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Chausse pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Stevenson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Reedy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for The Colony, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.
Reedy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Newman Smith at 7:15 p.m. Newman Smith knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Reedy likes a good challenge. As for The Colony, they will head out on the road to face off against Creekview at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekview is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
