After flying high against Burke  last Thursday, Norfolk came back down to earth. The Norfolk Panthers were  outmatched by the Elkhorn South Storm at home  and fell  45-13.  Elkhorn South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Gavin Shanahan, who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown. Another passer making a difference was  Madden Riggs, who threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
 Norfolk's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Elkhorn South, their record now sits at 7-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk will square off against Creighton Prep at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Norfolk is facing Creighton Prep at the right time seeing as Creighton Prep is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for Elkhorn South, they will challenge Papillion-LaVista South at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Elkhorn South will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
