The New Lexington Panthers lost against the Sheridan Generals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. New Lexington took a 41-23 bruising from Sheridan. While losing is never fun, New Lexington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Sheridan is ranked 15th).
New Lexington's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chloe Dick, who scored 11 points. The matchup was Dick's third in a row with at least ten points. Gracie Newlon was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
This is the second loss in a row for New Lexington and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Sheridan, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
New Lexington will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadowbrook at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sheridan, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri-Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
