Softball Recap: Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Takes a Loss

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-8 to the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Rehna Wallace made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Taylor Nevius also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Columbia Montour Vo-Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Shenandoah Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech will take on Millville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shenandoah Valley, they will face off against Weatherly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Shenandoah Valley their first taste of in-conference action this season.
