Lamphere is a perfect 6-0 against Fitzgerald since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Lamphere took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Cardinal Mooney Catholic as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Brooke Harrison (2025) made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Harrison (2025) was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Paige Oltersdorf was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Aliana Martinez (2026) was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Monday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Abes. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Like Lamphere, Fitzgerald also got a great game from a two-way player: Lydia Yokel. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Yokel was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Fitzgerald got a massive performance out of Aziya Marks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Marks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CaSaundra Smith, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.
Fitzgerald's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lamphere, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lamphere has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fitzgerald struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Lamphere's way against Fitzgerald when the teams last played back in June of 2023, as Lamphere made off with a 17-2 win. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
