The Alpine Bucks will venture away from home to face off against the Westbrook Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Alpine got the win against Presidio by a conclusive 18-3. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Taryn Hardin made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Zariah Galvan and Laci Tarango did most of the damage at the plate: Galvan went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double, while Tarango got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Galvan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kody Hawkins, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Westbrook made easy work of Petersburg on Saturday and carried off a 15-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Paislee Muller was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Zoey Alvarez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Westbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive games.
Westbrook's record is now 10-3. As for Alpine, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 7-11.
