The East Union Lancers will face off against the Ripon Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Things were looking good for East Union after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Liberty, falling 10-4.
Savanna Lopez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caliyah Lopez, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ripon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Gregori 14-12. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Angelina Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Martinez was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Izabelle Spurzem and Jackie Faria did most of the damage at the plate: Spurzem went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Faria went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits Spurzem has posted since back in April of 2025. Ellie Spurzem was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Ripon's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for East Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
East Union got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Ripon by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
