Kaleb Willoughby Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Byers got the W thanks in part to Kaleb Willoughby playing the best football he has all season. Willoughby rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August of 2023. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
The win for Byers keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Willoughby's next contest is against Elbert on Saturday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Big Game from Trechter As St. Mary's Won 24-20
Michael Trechter was a major factor in St. Mary's victory over Calhan on Friday. Trechter was dynamite, throwing for 196 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 80 yards.
This season, Trechter has thrown 10 touchdowns (and and only 2 pick) while averaging 183.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had six passing touchdowns.

Elbert Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Matt Dooley
Elbert picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Matt Dooley. Nobody could stop Dooley as he rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
For the season, Dooley has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 96.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 9.67 rushing yards per game.

Ethan Tesman Makes It Two for Elbert
Another Elbert player making an appearance on this list is Ethan Tesman. He threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
