The South Point Pointers will square off against the Fairland Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in South Point's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Fairland has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
South Point will bounce into Friday's game after beating Gallia Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Pointers came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 7-3 on Thursday.

Kota Copley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Stidham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Raygen Yates, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
South Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .381 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Fairland came up short against Rock Hill on Wednesday and fell 10-5.
Maddie Cornwell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Yardley Gorby, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
South Point's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Fairland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
Fairland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Fairland, though, as they've only averaged .290. Will they be able to contain South Point's hitters?
