The Miller County Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Mitchell County at home and fell 94-55. Miller County has struggled against Mitchell County recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Miller County had strong showings from Andrew Keown, who scored 25 points, and Jayden McCray, who scored 19 points. That was a full 34.5% of Miller County's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Miller County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Mitchell County, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Miller County will be playing at home against Calhoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Miller County likes a good challenge. As for Mitchell County, they will head out on the road to take on Randolph-Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
