Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richfield). They came out on top against the Fridley Tigers by a score of 83-73 on Friday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Tigers are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aniiya Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Desirai Chappell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 assists.

Richfield has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Fridley, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Richfield will take on DeLaSalle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeLaSalle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Richfield likes a good challenge. As for Fridley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-54 loss against Becker on the 1st.
