After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lemmon, the Timber Lake Panthers were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 67-56 win over Harding County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Harding County saw an underclassman step up: Cohen Smith scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Payton Dvorak, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Timber Lake has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Harding County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Timber Lake will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Braves at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th. As for Harding County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Thunderhawks at 8:00 p.m.
