Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Western Wildcats walked away with it. They came out on top against Palmetto by a score of 19-9 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Western sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Koby Howard, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 80 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Davi Belfort, who rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Western has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Palmetto, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.
Western will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbus is on a four-game streak of home wins, Western a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
