Millard South has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Omaha North has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. It'll be Northside v. Southside when the Millard South Patriots and the Omaha North Vikings meet at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Millard South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
Millard South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Westview, who was ranked 15th at the time (Millard South was ranked sixth). Millard South fell to Westview 82-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tyler Albert, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Thomalla, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Omaha North came up short against Bellevue West on Tuesday and fell 73-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Vikings still had to take the loss.
Like Omaha North, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Jerri'On Williams led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Williams' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Sam Cooper was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.
Omaha North has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Millard South, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Millard South hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 69.9 points per game. However, it's not like Omaha North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Millard South came up short against Omaha North in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 68-60. Thankfully for Millard South, Mynor Strong (who went 9 of 16 on his way to 26 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
