Chattanooga Prep is 3-0 against the Panthers since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Chattanooga Prep Sentinels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sale Creek Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Chattanooga Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Chattanooga Prep took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 71-36 win over the Eagles. Given Chattanooga Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Eagles are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chattanooga Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Derrick Roberson led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals. Roberson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ta'Suade Williams, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sale Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of South Pittsburg by a score of 50-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sale Creek in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.
Chattanooga Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Sale Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
