Bowdon waltzed into their game  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their  matchup  with ease, bagging  a  44-7 victory over the Mt. Zion Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won five contests by 20  points or more  so far this season.
Bowdon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Joshua Hopkins, who rushed for 131 yards and one  TD on only 11 carries, and also threw for 61 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 78 yards.  Kaiden Prothro also helped with two scores in total.

 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bowdon was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 299  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

 Bowdon and Mt. Zion will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  games. The next time the Red Devils see the field they'll take on Greenville  at 7:30  p.m.  on  the 24th. As for Mt. Zion, their break will end when they face Manchester  at 7:30  p.m.  on  the 24th.
